He had an adventurous childhood. His father was an I.B.E.W. union electrician. So, therefore the family moved multiple times over the years causing Glenn to attend sixteen different public schools in various states across the country.
He grew up in the Assembly of God church. He can’t ever recall a time when he didn’t feel close to God. At the age of fourteen he spent the summers at his grandparent’s house in Bridgeport, Texas. It was there that his grandfather began teaching him the electrical trade.
Glenn graduated from Richland High School in North Richland Hills, Texas. He then joined the Army in 1974. After a short stint in the Army, he moved to Pleasant View, a small community just outside of Bridgeport, Texas.
Since he was five, he had always dreamed of becoming a police officer. He joined the Bridgeport Police Department in 1978 and graduated from the Police Academy in 1979. He spent the next 24 years in law enforcement and Corrections.
In 1995 another dream was born. He and wife, Karen opened Waldon’s Electric Service. But the biggest dream of all came about in 2019 after graduating from the Perkins Course of Study. Pastor Glenn has served as an associate-paster at Alvord UMC and at Oak Grove UMC in Decatur and Garvin UMC in Boyd. He is currently serving at FUMC Sunset where it all began in 2004.
Glenn and Karen met at Church. They got married in 1986 at the FUMC Alvord where she had been attending since she was a little girl. She is a Chico girl at heart and a 1980 graduate of Chico High School.
They have one daughter, Laura and one Grandson, Kaleb John. Glenn loves being with his family and enjoys riding his Harley motorcycle.
God is good all the time!
